Overview:
This role is to plan, execute and finalize a project according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver the project according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the projects objectives and oversee quality control throughout its lifecycle.
Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in Civil / Electrical Engineering is essential
• Project Management experience
• Extensive knowledge of power line construction
• Ability to achieve forecasted targets
• Excellent project management, site management and project co-ordination skills
• Excellent Problem solving capabilities
• Previous experience in Africa will be beneficial
• High level of experience within computer applications (Microsoft Project, excel etc)
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
To understand the tender and the basis of the submitted tender prices and rates
To understand and implement the Contract Agreement
To plan the activities as required by the bills of quantity and to efficiently manage the resources needed to implement these activities.
To set up a system that actively monitors the operational progress on the project to ensure that the operational, targets, deadlines etc are achieved. These will be the project KPI’s.
Update the project plan and the resources on a regular basis to ensure efficient running of the operations.
To manage the finances of the project as a standalone business unit and be responsible for the project profitability
To provide a budget for the project that is based upon the operational plan
Monitor the actual financial progress of the project amending the project forecast as the project progresses.
To ensure that the safety, health and environmental policies are understood by all on the project and are implemented.
To be familiar with policies and procedures and to insure that these are followed and implemented on the project
Assist in the development of new policies or suggest ways to improve existing methods of working etc.
