INSTITUTE OF ADULT EDUCATION

The institute of Adult Education is a Government institution established by Act of Parliament No. 12 of 1975. It is a leading Institution in the provision of quality Adult and Non formal Continuing Education and training with Accreditation by NACTE.

Due to expansion in its operations, (AE invites applications from interested, suitable and qualified Tanzanians to fill the following positions:

1. POSITION NAME: ASSISTANT LECTURER (3 Posts) WORK STATION: DAR ES SALAAM (2 Posts) and

MWANZA (1 Post)

ACCOUNTABLE TO: HEAD OF DEPARTMENT ADULT AND

CONTINUING EDUCATION STUDIES.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(a) Teaching up to NTA level 8 (Bachelor Degree)

(b) Assist the Regional Resident Tutor to carry out consultancy work and community services (For MWANZA Centre).

(c) Carry out consultancy and community services.

(d)Perform any other related duties assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Holder of Masters Degree in Adult Education or Education from a recognized institution major in English/Communication Skills, Adult Education in Undergraduate.

Must be Computer Literate.

SALARY: PHTS 13

AGE LIMIT: Not above 40 years

GPA: Not less than 3.5




2. POSITION NAME: TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (1 Post) WORK STATION: IRINGA

ACCOUNTABLE TO: REGIONAL RESIDENT TUTOR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(a) Teaching up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma). (b)Assist in conducting tutorial and practical exercises for

students at NTA Level 6

(c) Prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises. (d)Assist in conducting research in areas related to adult

education and community development

(e) Assist the Regional Resident Tutor to carry out consultancy work and community services.

(f) Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Holder of Degree in Education/or Advanced Diploma in Adult & Community Development or related field.

Must be Computer Literate.

SALARY: PHTS 9

AGE LIMIT: Not above 40 years

GPA: Not less than 3.5

3. POSITION NAME: TUTORIAL ASSISTANT (1 Post) WORK STATION: WAMO MOROGORO ACCOUNTABLE: DEPUTY DIRECTOR (FINANCE

ADMINISTRATION AND PLANNING

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(a) Teaching up to NTA level 6 (Ordinary Diploma) and may assist teaching in higher NTA levels

(b)Prepare learning resources for seminars and short courses

(c) Manage and coordinate all marketing issues, advertising and promotion of WAMO activities

(d)Analyze customers, current market conditions and competitors information


(e) Develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing products

(f) Determine and manage the budget of the centre

(g) Assist in the administration of recruitment process on behalf of IAE management with approval

(h)Coordinate and monitor all purchase/supplies of services for the hostel and seminar rooms.

(i) Supervise and inspect minor and major repairs of equipment at the centre

(j) Ensure health and safety of employees, customers and other stake holders

(k)Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS;

Holder of Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent professional qualification

Must be Computer Literate.

4. POSITION NAME: SENIOR TUTOR 1(2 Posts) WORK STATION: DAR ES SALAAM

ACCOUNTABLE TO: HEAD OF DISTANCE EDUCATION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(e) Teaching up to NTA level 6 and may assist teaching in higher NTA levels

(f) Assist in conducting tutorial and practical exercises for students

(g) Develop and review curricula

(h)Prepare learning resources for tutorial exercises.

(i) Conduct research

(j) Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Holder of Masters Degree in Education with background in Bachelor of Education Arts (Geography/Adult Education)


Must be Computer Literate



SALARY: PTSS 15

AGE LIMIT: Not above 40 years

GPA: Not less than 3.5
