The Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority, (TCAA) was established by the enactment of the
Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority Act 2003 Cap 80 (R.E 2006) to regulate the civil
aviation industry in the United Republic of Tanzania in order to ensure effective
implementation of Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) as provided in the
Annexes of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The Authority is also
responsible for economic regulation of the activities of persons and institutions providing
air transport services and aeronautical airport services. In addition the Authority
provides air navigation services in Tanzania.
To meet this mandate of regulating and overseeing the functions of the aviation industry
in an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective manner, TCAA invites applications from
suitably qualified Tanzanian Citizens to fill in the following vacant positions;
DIVISION OF SAFETY REGULATION
POSITION: CHIEF PERSONNEL LICENCING (1 POST)
Reporting: Reports to the Director Safety Regulation
Main function of the job
To manage the personnel licensing section and ensure that examinations are
conducted and aviation personnel licenses are processed and issued in
compliance with national and international standards
Duties and responsibilities
1. To advise the Director Safety Regulation on all matters relating to
Personnel licensing.
2. To establish and maintain effective personnel licensing procedures
3. To develop and review personnel licensing requirements.
4. To certify and maintain a register of Licensed personnel and Approved
Training Organizations (ATO)
5. To ensure effective oversight of designated examiners.
6. To perform any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Science from a recognized University or equivalent
qualifications (Any Aviation Diploma from Approved Training Organization such as
Pilot, Airworthiness & Air Traffic Control) with either a Commercial Pilot License
(CPL) or air traffic control license with at least four (4) ratings or aircraft
maintenance engineer license with two categories.
Minimum Experience:
He/she must have at least eight (8) years working experience in the aviation
industry, five (5) of which should be in a senior position.
Salary: According to TCAA Salary Structure.

Successful candidates will be appointed initially on one year probation period and
thereafter if successful on unspecified period contract depending on the age of the
employee.
