CIL SECTION LEADERAcacia Mining seeks to employ an experienced CIL Section Leader based at Bulyanhulu Gold Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the Process Plant Manager and the role holder will be accountable to lead the CIL operational team to extract the maximum amount of gold from the CIL circuits (Old and New CIL circuits) whilst complying to the safe practices as stipulated by the ICMI code and MSDS’s for the reagents used and driving operational efficiency of the process equipment through liaising with the Engineering personnel. In addition, the incumbent will be held accountable for using the reagents as efficiently and economically as possible and also to drive circuit improvements through liaising with the Metallurgical Department and Management.
This is a fixed term contract role, with the work roster being six weeks on and three weeks off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Accountable for the CIL circuits, ensuring a clear vision and taking ownership of the CIL circuits
• Align with other departments with the required operational practices to achieve production
• Maximize gold production
• Production planning, including downtime planning and elution performance tracking
• Facilitate and drive process equipment availability and reliability though liaising with the Asset Reliability Department
• Robust metal accounting practices by monitoring sound sample taking practices and monitoring of the results through liaising with the Metallurgical Department
• Enforce and maintain sound and robust operational practices
• Plan and track the quality and quantity of finished goods production, i.e. the number of elutions to be conducted vs. the actual achieved
• Establish, enforce and maintain sound operational practices through the help of the Training Department
• Demonstrate a high concern for ICMI code practices and alignment with any other departments required to maintain compliance to the code
• Zero tolerance regarding incidents & accidents, ensuring that safety risks are identified and preventative measures put in place
• Set a high housekeeping standard
• To contribute actively, think critically, and support peers
• To complete tasks on time and to standard
• To give sound technical directive to maximize production
• Open and transparent reporting of achievements and non-conformances
• Build sound relationships and show leadership and direction to maximize production
• Drive improvements through liaising with various required departments & Plant Management
• Capital project initiation with adequate motivation
• Operational improvement through sound practices establishment
• Accountable for usage of consumables, ensuring safe usage, and reconciliation and accurate reporting of consumables’ consumption
• Budget control and ownership
• Future cost related planning with Finance
• Actively interact with the personnel on the floor by on-the-job supervision
• Bring knowledge of sound practices to the floor officially through embedding knowledge in the SOP’s to be used as training material
• Launch programs to officially enforce sound practices as per up-to-date training material, i.e. frequent unexpected PTO’s with the help of the Training Department
• Provoke sound decision making and practices through on-the-job coaching, PTO’s, Supervisory exposure and discipline enforcement

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Qualification Requirements:
• Relevant Metallurgical/ Mineral Processing/ Chemical Engineering Diploma/ Degree

Experience Requirements:
• At least 15 years’ CIL Operational Experience, including Supervisory experience
