Position: Country Advocacy and Training Programme Co-ordinator

Job Purpose:
Community Health Education Services and Advocacy (CHESA) is a Registered youth voluntary, Non-governmental Organization in Tanzania, response to Sexual reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and Human Rights,; through advocacy, communication and social mobilization in depth partnership with the communities at large.
CHESA is looking for an Advocacy and Training Programme Co-ordinator to be based at its Head Office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This post requires an experienced networker, advocate and activist to guide and supervise implementation of training and advocacy activities of an HIV, TB and Training Programme in Tanzania. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate consultative processes.
Main Responsibilities
Support and build the capacity of national partners to engage in advocacy and lobbying for a human rights based response to HIV and TB by co-ordinating the organisation and conducting treatment literacy and advocacy training throughout the country
Identify HlV and TB-related challenges in the country and raise national, regional and international awareness on the issues
Design and implement advocacy campaigns to address the challenges and to promote the development andlor strengthening and implementation of national legal and policy frameworks that afford adequate protection for the rights of key populations and for the protection and fulfilment of socio-economic rights which influence vulnerability to and the impact of HI V and AIDS ,
Identify and build strong alliances with print and electronic media and implement appropriate activities to highlight advocacy issues in the media
Identify and build strong alliances with human rights and HlV and AIDS organisations in Tanzania to establish and strengthen a coalition to support HIV and TB advocacy efforts
To monitor and supervise Community Health Advocates in all regions in Tanzania.
To develop proposals and work with National, Regional and International partners in ensuring sustainability of the programme.
To work with national partners in developing training and capacity strengthening activities
Represent the HlV, TB and -Human Rights Advocacy and Training Programme at national, regional and
international fora.
Qualification & Experiences
At least a Bachelor/ Master's Degree in public health, law, human rights or other relevant field
At least 3 years' experience in design and implementation of HI V, TB and human rights programme
Thorough knowledge of advocacy and campaign development coupled with an advanced understanding of the linkages between health and human rights.
Highly proficient in coalition building and organizational development;
Experience in conceptualization, design, and implementation of advocacy and training programmes
Solid background in lCTs combined with excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent research and analytical skills
Research and Programing Proposal Development skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
