The PATH Regional TB/HIV Coordinator will work under the direction and supervision of the PATH TB/HIV Project Director and will work in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health Regional TB and Leprosy Coordinator (RTLC) and the Regional Health Management Team (RHMT) in the Coast region to support TB/HIV activities. The Regional TB/HIV Coordinator will be based in Kibaha – Coast Region, sharing office space with the RTLC. In line with PATH's strategic plan, support the RTLC to initiate, coordinate and supervise joint TB-HIV program activities in the region starting with the regional hospital and then expanding to cover designated districts and private hospitals in the region. The Regional TB/HIV Coordinator will also be responsible for: 

  • Establishing baseline data on tuberculosis/HIV activities in the region and designated districts.
  • Providing technical support, training and technical guidance to DTLCs in districts where TB/HIV activities will be established.
  • Providing regular supportive supervision to districts to ensure smooth running of TB/HIV activities.
  • Initiating, developing and assisting in the execution of TB-HIV training at regional and district level.
  • Monitoring and evaluating TB-HIV program activities carried out at the district level.
  • Preparing regular quarterly TB/HIV reports to be submitted to RTLC, PATH and presenting results during relevant meetings.
  • Participating in quarterly DTLC meetings and the bi-annual NTLP meetings 8. Supervise and provide technical leadership for PATH District TB/HIV Coordinators in designated districts.
  • Contributing to the strategic planning and technical development of the PATH TB/HIV project, in collaboration with the PATH Regional TB Specialist, National TB and Leprosy Program (NLTP) and National AIDS Control Program.
  • Assisting the RTLC in any other activity in line with those described in the NTLP national manual.
Required Skills
  • Expertise in tuberculosis diagnosis and knowledge of treatment and/or counseling.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 70 days in Coastal Region Provinces. 
Required Experience
Medical Officer with a Medical Degree or Assistant Medical Officer with Advanced Diploma in Medicine, plus a minimum of five years of experience in public health and/or tuberculosis control, plus a minimum of two years of experience in public health management at regional level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
