PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR – DAR ES SALAAM


CARE Tanzania recognizes partnership as its best way of achieving significantly greater impact and has made partnership coordination an integral part of its PQL function. Whereas the main responsibility of the PQL function is to promote reflective learning leading to program quality and evidence of impact, the primary responsibility of the Partnership Coordinator (PC) is to coordinate CARE Tanzania’s efforts to engage with partners more effectively.

Guided by CARE Tanzania’s Mwangaza Program Document, Partnership Strategy and other relevant strategies, the PC shall have the responsibility and authority for promotion of greater understanding of partnership among CARE Tanzania’s staff members as well as coordination of CARE Tanzania’s efforts to establish and maintain good relations with other development actors, build its partner organizations’ capacity for social transformation, and mainstream partnership (best practices) into itsMwangaza program work.

The PC is one of the senior program leaders at CARE Tanzania. As one of the program senior leaders, the PC reports directly to the Program Quality & Learning Director (PQLD), is responsible and accountable to the PQL Team to provide expert partnership knowledge within and through the team, and is responsible and accountable to the Senior Program Management Team (SPMT) and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to actively participate in their team activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Masters degree or Post Graduate Diploma in law, public administration/management, development studies, poverty analysis and social works or other social sciences; Work experience of eight years in a development organization; 3 years in a senior management position; Well versed in the concepts of participatory development ideology; Hands on experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with donors, government, local government authorities, networks, CSOs, private sectors, academia/ research institutions and community members; Demonstrated skills and experience in partnership engagement and advocacy; Demonstrated knowledge and experience in strategic planning and contextual analysis in governance and advocacy; Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading project/program design and preparation of concept notes and proposals for a range of international donors; Demonstrated team work spirit including ability to establish and nurture a reflective learning culture within the team; Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, including strong representation and negotiation skills; High levels of integrity and self-initiative; Excellent oral and written skills in English and Kiswahili; Computer skills in MS Word, Excel; Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, participatory approach and sustainable development.
