Campaign Manager - Mama Misitu Campaign
As the Campaign Manager for Mama Misitu, it will be your responsibility to build a strong team of implementing partners who work in the districts as well as at national level. You will be facilitating these organizations to increase their knowledge, strengthen their voices and stimulating dialogues between them. The Campaign Manager gives leadership to the Campaign Coordination Staff consisting of 4 employees as well as to consultants. The Mama Misitu Campaign office will based in Dar es Salaam, and there will be frequent travel to districts where the campaign is implemented. To be successful in this challenging job, you need to be an excellent communicator. Furthermore it is important that you are able to cope with sometimes conflicting interests and to work at different levels of government and private sector, with civil society and with local communities. Your political and cultural sensitivity enables you to smooth complex processes and through your negotiation skills you are able to gain people’s support for proposals and plans.
You have obtained a Master’s degree , for example in Natural Resource Management, Communications or Political Science. You are passionate about the needs for better governance of natural resources in Tanzania and you have a strong experience in working in civil society networks at community and national levels. You will have proven project management skills and experience. Being fluent in English and Kiswahili is an important requirement. This job is only open for Tanzanian citizens.
Financial Manager - Mama Misitu Campaign
As the Financial Manager for Mama Misitu, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of a financial reporting system. You will do this in close cooperation with TNRF, who is responsible for managing the funds and with the implementing partners. You will also train and support the implementing partners in the preparation of the periodic financial reports. Other important tasks will include the coordination of the annual planning and budgeting process and the monitoring of the financial performance of the implementing partners. You will prepare periodic financial reports as well as the annual financial statements, all in accordance to TNRF standards. You will advise the Campaign Manager on cash flow issues and on HR issues like recruitment, appraisal and development in accordance with the TNRF HR manuals. You will also advise on legal matters, such as monitoring contracts with consultants and MoU’s with partners. Ensuring that proper procurement procedures are followed in accordance with good practice and TNRF finance policy, will also be your responsibility.
The ideal candidate for this job is someone who combines excellent financial and administrative know how with sound communication skills. Not only you have to be able to oversee the financial performance of implementing partners and the campaign as a whole, also you must be able to train and support the implementing partners to make sure they are able to work according to TNRF’s standards. Affinity with HR issues and the willingness to develop in this area is required.
You have obtained a recognized accounting degree (CPA) and you have a sound knowledge of Tanzanian law and fiscal legislation. Being fluent in English and Kiswahili is an important requirement. You will be based in Dar es Salaam, frequent travel to support partners in their financial management of the campaign will be part of your job.
Technical Advisor - Mama Misitu
As the Technical Advisor for Mama Misitu, you will report to the Mama Misitu Campaign Manager. It will be your responsibility to provide strategic direction and policy-related technical expertise to the Mama Misitu Campaign, linking with partner and external advisers where appropriate. An important responsibility will be to suggest innovations and provide advice on campaign design and implementation and to ensure useful monitoring outputs are generated and that lessons learned are integrated to strengthen the campaign.
To be successful in this interesting job, you need to have an excellent understanding of political economy in natural resources management. You have strong analytical and writing skills, and you have a proven aptitude for strategic and lateral thinking. Good knowledge of best practices in forest management would be advantageous as well as experience in mass-media communication and knowledge of Kiswahili. Your English should be excellent.
You have obtained a post-graduate degree in environmental sciences or social/political sciences and you have at least three years of experience in managing projects and budgets. Last but not least you are passionate about the needs for better governance of natural resources in Tanzania.
