To strengthen our Country Program team we are searching for a:
Technical Adviser
The Technical Adviser (TA) is an ICT expert who contributes to the integration of ICT in Development programmes in various countries supported by IICD. The TA provides expertise in ICT for Development (ICT4D) tools, processes, technologies and strategies.
Summary of key responsibilities
- Contribute to IICD’s technical innovation process, strategy and methodologies;
- Coordinate technical and training activities with the Country Managers in all assigned countries;
- Identify and establish an effective pool of local technical advisers and trainers (individuals or companies) which are to assist in providing advice and training for local partner organizations;
- Contribute to improving the competences of local technical advisers and trainers trough support, advice and coaching on effective advisory and training methodologies and materials;
- Advise, design, implement and update technical seminars together with local partners;
- Seek synergies in technical experience and expertise across countries in the region;
- Contribute to the performance and exchange of experiences within Regional Teams;
- Contribute to the generation and dissemination of lessons learned by IICD.
Summary of Experience
As a qualified candidate for this challenging and exciting position you should have at least 7 years experience in providing ICT program advice or training and have working experience in developing countries.
Must haves:
- University Level in IT, ICT Development or related fields;
- Up-to-date knowledge and working experience in a range of capacity development approaches;
- Proving experience in conducting and coordinating training programmes;
- Experience in project management and in training;
- Living in The Netherlands, in possession of a Dutch working permit;
- Highly organised, able to work in a fast-paced, inter-disciplinary and multicultural work environment;
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders;
- Self-motivated with proven commitment to continuous learning and self-development;
- Willingness to travel.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High degree of professional versatility and hands-on attitude and approach;
- Ability to think and act strategically while possessing the managerial skills to enable the "hands-on" execution of projects;
- Shows high standards of commitment, trust, openness, respect, authenticity and transparency in working relations;
- Excellent spoken and written English. In addition French or Spanish is required.
