Responsibilities | |||
Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP, formally Vontu) solutions lead the market with technology that discovers, monitors and protects confidential data to help organizations ensure public confidence, demonstrate compliance and maintain competitive advantage. Symantec DLP customers include many of the world's largest and most data-driven enterprises and government agencies. The primary responsibilities of this role include: - Provide onsite Symantec DLP technical service and support to a Large Enterprise customer; - Provide guidance, recommendations, best practices, etc. for DLP operations; - Stabilize and optimize DLP system performance, including rules and reports; - Assist with DLP upgrades, installs and configuration; - Liaison with Symantec Support, Engineering, Product Management, and others within Symantec on behalf of the customer; - Provide single point of contact and hands-on escalation and remediation for critical issues; - Respond rapidly to unplanned events, including afterhours for Severity 1 issues; - Proactively communicate relevant technical information and alerts on known issues, hot fixes, new releases, etc; - Provide regular status reports for critical incidents, projects and proactive services; - Communicate professionally and effectively at all organizational levels externally with the customer and internally within Symantec; - Keep the Account Team informed of major issues or new opportunities; - Contribute technical solutions, whitepapers, best practices, etc to the Symantec knowledgebase | |||
Qualifications | |||
Good written and verbal communications skills in English; - Minimum of 2 years administering, supporting or consulting on Symantec DLP, Vontu or related data security software products in an enterprise customer environment. - Experience implementing and managing Symantec DLP Endpoint Protect. - Minimum of 6 years practical technical experience with servers, personal computers networking hardware and software, operating system software (Windows, Unix, Linux), and other information technologies such as SQL, IIS, XML, etc. - A Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Familiarity with remote access tools (WebEx, iLinc, etc.) is a plus. - Certifications such as SCS, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, CISA, GIAC are a definite plus. - Willingness to work out of normal business hours without prior notice (upon customer demand) is required. | |||
