The Program Director is responsible for leading, developing, directing and implementing all aspects of World Vision Somalia’s humanitarian aid response; ensuring high program quality and high impact in the field. Projects focus on lifesaving and emergency health, nutrition, WASH and education. Anti-FGM and Peace Building are also components of WV's work in Somalia.
We are looking for a visionary leader who can combine strong business disciplines with inspirational leadership skills in line with our Christian values and ethos. You will have a passionate desire to help others, especially children.
SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:
- Must have equivalent of Master’s degree in relevant field and/or at least 10 years of practical experience in humanitarian related work, with extensive experience in emergency relief operations in a fragile state environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with communities and local governments, INGOs, donors and other key internal and external stakeholders
