Project/Proposal Summary:
MSI is looking for an experienced Civil Society and Media Specialists for an upcoming, long-term, donor-sponsored project in Tanzania. The program will require that you strengthen civil society’s public awareness, advocacy and watchdog activities in the anti-corruption field, support the mass media in investigative reporting on corruption issues, and build joint anti-corruption programs between civil society organizations and government institutions.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
• Strengthen Civil Society Organizations in fighting corruption.
• Provide training and technical assistance to civil society groups to enhance their capacity to conduct public awareness programs, monitor government agencies, conduct advocacy campaigns, and build coalitions.
• Administer small grants programs for civil society to promote anti-corruption activities.
• Provide training and technical assistance to investigative journalists to promote anti-corruption reporting.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated expertise in capacity building for civil society organizations.
• Prior experience strengthening CSO’s ability to prevent, identify and eliminate corruption.
• Experience working with governmental institutions (such as anti-corruption commissions, ombudsman, or state audit institutions) preferred.
• Prior experience on international donor-funded anti-corruption or government accountability projects preferred.
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in public administration, the social sciences, or law.
• Fluency in English is required.
