Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Specialist, the Quality Assurance Officer will assist in the preparation and execution of QA plans to ensure that products and services align with UNICEF business objectives and performance measures. S/he will be working with consultants and perform quality assurance of application and interfaces under test prior to release; work with the business units to develop, sign-off and execute test scenarios; test all applications and interfaces end-to-end to determine the impact on related systems.
Qualification:
University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field is required. Training in related disciplines, interface and applications development for example, Business Analysis is an asset.
Two years professional work experience at progressively increasing levels of responsibility in supporting international level systems development and support. At least two years of such experience in applications quality assurance and/or software testing. Experience with systems preventive and corrective quality assurance actions is desirable.
Fluency in English is required and working knowledge of one of the UN language is desirable (French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabic).
Key Expected Results:
Participate in the testing of customized off the shelf (COTS) applications such as Cognos, SAP, E-Recruitment, EPAS etc. and in-house developed applications such as ProMS, PnP, ProMS Admin Module and the interfaces between the various systems, to assure that adequate results will be produced by each systems/project support team. Review and validate the business and functional requirements for the application under test (AUT). Review and approve QA results.
Set up and maintain the Quality Assurance environment for customized off the shelf (COTS) applications such as Cognos, SAP, E-Recruitment, EPAS etc. and in-house developed applications such as ProMS, PnP, ProMS Admin Module and the interfaces between the various systems until the phase out of ProMS.
Participate in the development and documentation of test scripts, as needed. All test assets: requirements, scripts, test steps, test results and defects are to be stored in a Test Management Application such as HP Quality Center.
Prepare the test plans as for each application, in coordination with application support team/project team; agree on responsibilities and follow-up on the plan.
Set-up and maintain a test environment for Organizational Reporting such as Dashboards using such applications as Cognos etc.
Set-up and maintain a QA Assurance environment for testing of the UNICEF Images for the Windows Operating System (both Desktops and Servers) This also includes ensuring that the various applications still work in the new version of the Operating System.
