Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of standardized methodologies and materials for implementation of the community mobilization components of the program, including working with Health Comittees, working with Home health promoters (HHPs), working with local CSOs through provision of microgrants and training and program outreach by implementing lead agencies (subcontracting partners);
Provide training and support to the lead agencies related to community mobilization techniques and methodologies for working with the above mentioned target groups;
Monitor the implementation of community mobilization methodologies (especially in regard to working with health committees and HHPs) by lead agencies (sub contracting partners );
Provide support to the lead agencies engagement with community structures and CSOs and ensure that the CSO partners and village/Boma health committees are utilizing the trainings and experiential learning opportunities to improve their capacity to provide services to and represent their community;
Make regular monitoring trips to the 14 targeted counties throughout Southern Sudan to evaluate the quality and accountability of activities conducted by the subcontracting partners
Provide support to the MSH primary health advisor(s) in determining dissemination strategies for the behavior change communication (BCC) materials that they have developed in partnership with the MoH which can be adapted by lead agencies in their areas of implementation in order to promote healthy practices;
Lead on the collection and sharing of good practices, innovative communication and best practice models, partly informed by field visits, and ensure that these are disseminated through all partners through appropriate fora, and identify specific learning opportunities across of lead agency partners.
Work with Technical working group within the ministry to ensure that HHP/CCM acitivites are carried out as per required national and international standards
Support SHTPII in the develpement and analysis of local and international evidence base on Community Health Interventions
Work closely with SHTPII M&E Team in collecting and analysising data from SHTPII’s community based primary health care interventions,and ensure targets are met by Sub Contracting partners as defined in PBF
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in public health, community mobilization, community development, organizational capacity building or local governance;
Masters in Public Health, or similar post graduate qualification or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience;
Experience working with public health programs is advantageous ;
Experience in development of training materials and tools;
Ability to set priorities in a fluid, complex and demanding environment and to balance differing simultaneous requirements;
Excellent communication skills and facilitation experience, particularly in relation to international NGOs;
Superior analytical, presentation and communication skills
Demonstrated creativity, ability to apply innovative thinking and problem solving skills;
