Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the post of Drug Access Program Analyst at the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) in Lilongwe, Malawi. The Analyst will provide technical support to Malawi’s Ministry of Health to enhance access to medicines for people living with HIV. In close conjunction with the Ministry and NGO partners, the Analyst will seek to enhance the supply chain, improve the procurement process and provide support in forecasting and quantification of anti-retroviral medications. As part of the Drug Access team in Malawi, the Analyst will play a critical role in strengthening systems that deliver drugs to health facilities.
The Analyst must be a strategic thinker with exceptional quantitative skills. The Analyst will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, from quantitative analysis to collaborating with stakeholders to gain consensus on proposed recommendations. The Analyst will also spend time in the field, collecting data and launching pilots at a variety of health facilities. The Analyst must be well versed in the costs, efficacy and side effects of diverse drug regimens and formulations. The Analyst will be expected to identify areas of engagement relating to improvements in supply chain, data integrity, forecasting and planning and be able to initiate work plans to address these issues rapidly and with limited guidance.
The Analyst will spend ~25% of his/her time travelling domestically, primarily to regions with limited facilities. The Analyst will also provide technical and analytical support to CHAI’s Global Health Financing (GHF) team in modeling costs of providing HIV and Malaria interventions, quantifying funding flows in the health sector and synthesizing data from field visits with the expectation of sharing key insights and knowledge between the Drug Access and GHF teams. |
