African Barrick Gold's North Mara Mine seeks to fill the following positions:

Plant Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to the Process Manager, the incumbent will lead the maintenance team to ensure optimum Plant availability, including troubleshooting and problem-solving exercises, to ensure equipment failures and downtime are reduced.
Candidates will need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a Government Certificate of Competency, plus a minimum of 7 years' metallurgical plant experience and 3 years' managerial experience, in order to apply. Multi-discipline experience (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation and extensive practical
experience in maintenance management) and proficiency in conducting failure analysis and root cause investigation techniques are also essential, as is knowledge of business improvement methods (such as LEAN), as well as a basic understanding of data collection and statistical analysis techniques.

Heavy Mining Equipment Engineer

The incumbent will be responsible for the replacement and purchase or modification of machinery and equipment, managing the installation of new equipment and ensuring its compliance with the specifications, environmental requirements and safety and health laws.
An Engineering degree and/or Certificate of Competence (M&W) and ten years' experience in open pit mining at a managerial level are the minimum requirements for this position.

Production Mining Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible to perform engineering and planning functions to ensure all Mining Engineering controls are adequately provided to the operations team in order for them to deliver safe and cost-effective production.
Here a degree in Mining Engineering and a minimum of five years' experience in open pit mining are required. Candidates must be experienced in mine planning and scheduling using mine planning packages, preferably Surpac, XPAC, Talpac and be qualified to register with the ERB (Engineer Registration Board Tanzania). Good knowledge of and experience in all mining-related unit processes (drill and blast, dewatering, planning) completes the profile.

Process Plant Manager

The incumbent will lead the Process Operations Team to ensure agreed targets are achieved within corporate safety and environmental guidelines as well as set targets for Mill availability, throughput and recovery. Furthermore, the appointee will manage operating and maintenance costs and capital expenditure, ensure high-quality metal recovery activities, metallurgical performance and optimise the Company's financial status.

To qualify, applicants need a degree or Higher Diploma in Extraction Metallurgy and intricate knowledge of ICMC. This must be supported by a minimum of twenty years' experience at a managerial level and a minimum of ten years' experience in gold processing.

Mining Superintendent

Reporting to the Mining Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to provide leadership, direction and technical expertise to the mining operations personnel to ensure optimum safe production at minimum cost within the statutory and corporate framework.
This role requires a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering and ten years' underground experience in the Mining industry. Both technical and operational experience is essential. Some exposure to cemented backfill and narrow vein operations, as well as experience in managing small capital projects are also needed.

Mining Manager

Reporting to the Production Manager, the incumbent will lead the mine operations teams by providing technical, commercial and strategic management and control and ensuring budgeted results are achieved and that mining initiatives and activities are aligned with and support other departments at Bulyanhulu. The incumbent will also manage the mining operations to ensure ore is delivered to the ROM stockpile at optimum cost and in accordance with established budgets/targets and implement mine plans to ensure the optimum exploitation of the Bulyanhulu ore bodies.

Candidates must have a degree in Mining Engineering and a minimum of fifteen years' experience in underground hard rock mining with at least five years at Superintendent level. Recent experience in the gold mining industry and sound knowledge of mining safety regulations and best practice are essential.
