Compliance Manager; Regulatory Reporting
The incumbent that we are looking for will be responsible for assessing the adequacy of efforts made by management and operational staff in complying with regulatory requirements and support management in building a robust compliance culture based on ethical standards of behavior and thus contributing to effective corporate governance.
Execution of regulatory monitoring & testing strategies for the entire bank; enhance compliance monitoring of applicable rules and regulations to enable effective identification and mitigation of all compliance risk elements.
Oversight of the regulatory reporting process to regulators, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting.
Monitoring compliance with internal policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements by performing regular and comprehensive compliance risk assessments and testing.
Developing quarterly report to the Board Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (BARCC), and monthly reports to the meeting of OPSCO, and the Management Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee (MARCC).
Ensure management team across the bank understands and own regulatory risk management in their respective business units.
Formulate/ compile an annual compliance monitoring plan in conjunction with management taking into consideration other assurance provider plans, available resources (staff and budget) versus the business needs and expectations.
Coordinate and finalize compliance monitoring reviews, make recommendations and ensure follow-up of any identified deficiencies and provide accurate and complete Management Information (MI).
Present compliance function at various departmental meetings in order to build culture of effective corporate governance.
Develop compliance training program for key regulations and assist in organization of department's workshops and preparation of presentations.
Drive all compliance related training/ awareness initiatives to fulfilment at an acceptable level regarding content, quality and maintain a robust and updated database of Head Office staff training records.
Attend professional education courses, seminars, and conferences, identify and analyze new laws and changes to laws and regulations.
Reviewing new products, projects, business initiatives, and agreements, monitor and develop compliance profiles of new areas of activities.
Create compliance risk matrix for all laws and by-laws, guidelines in which the bank is subjected to, in order to effectively track and ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.
Regular review of individual performance.
Coaching and motivating the subordinates.
Good understanding of Compliance Risk Management
Strong understanding of key regulatory requirements and implications to businesses
Good knowledge of bank policies especially AML/CFT & Sanctions, operational procedures and operating systems
Good knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and banking laws
Good performance management skills and effective risk management and be able to promote strong risk management culture
Standard computer literacy
Good understanding of the Core Banking System, bank's products, all bank policies, operational procedures and operating systems with knowledge of the controls and procedures on branch operations
High degree of communication and inter-personal skills

Qualifications and Experience
University Degree Preferably Master’s Degree / Advanced Diploma in Law/ Banking/ Economics/ Finance or equivalent qualifications
Banking Experience of 4 years preferably in Compliance/Risk management/Operations or Audit
Experience in compliance policy setting and roll out
