General description of the position
The Junior Communication Officer will work under the supervision of the Director of outreach of Executive Education. The duties will include projects and tasks related to the implementation of the promotion and communication initiatives of the Executive Education.
The Junior Communication Officer is expected to work on and develop the communication channels (web, social media etc.), produce creative communication messaging (news, e-mailing) and materials (brochures) as well as monitor the CRM system according to the Institute’s standards.
More specifically, the Junior Communications Officer is expected to implement tasks such as:
- Designing, publishing and updating the website of the Department ;
- Creation of promotional materials (brochures, flyers) on graphic design/publishing software and tools, in both formats electronic and print as needed ;
- Monitor and develop the CRM System and databases of the Department ;
- Participate in the writing of messaging for mass mailing / emailing, news and events of the Department in coordination with the team members ;
- Creating, developing and managing communication campaigns using social media, in coordination with the team members.
- The candidate’s profile includes the following elements
- Bachelor degree in Media Communications, Marketing or related discipline that includes both technical training and strong communications skills ;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French (including the ability to draft in a clear, concise style in both languages) ;
- Experience in creating materials, drafting communications messaging or executing communications projects is a plus.
- Strong motivation and demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop new competencies ;
- Professionalism with a commitment to quality and details; ability to work autonomously and under tight deadlines ;
- Creativity with the ability to integrate a brand with a strong historical background
- Ability to think strategically the use of the different communication tools including social media;
- Fully proficient with standard office software and other relevant applications to the position ;
- Demonstrated training and/or capacity for Photoshop and InDesign software; Knowledge of HTML and internet editing tools is required ;
- Capacity to quickly learn and master technical software and applications ;
- Excellent presentation and good communication skills (spoken and written) ;
- Ability to communicate in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
