Junior Operations Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with and assist the Regional Manager in following areas of work:
o Community Sensitization, Formation and Training of farmer groups including voluntary saving and loan groups (VSLGs), Farmer Marketing Associations (FMAs) and Training of Trainers (ToT) to individuals such as Community Resource Persons (CRPs),
o Annual Certification Preparation and facilitation of farmer groups such as FMAs,
o Facilitate regular leadership and business trainings,
o Certified Seed Production Activities, such as Identification of new Seed Growers, monitoring and training, as well as facilitating Seed Certification,
o Managing Seed Sales through contracting and collaboration with Agro Dealers,
o Crop Aggregation and Marketing preparation, Goods Handling Procedures Training to farmers, Quality control, supervising Logistics and other marketing related activities during marketing season,
o Monitoring and Evaluation, Research and Field Studies,
o Facilitation of Partner Visits,
• Data Collection and Data Base Management of farmer groups, VSLGs and FMAs,
• Regular Report writing and updating Training Manuals.
Qualifications:
• At least Diploma with 2-3 years additional post A-Level school years or Bachelor Degree
• Diploma/Degree majors in Agribusiness, Business, Economics, Rural and Social Development, Procurement and Logistics, Marketing or equivalent
• At least 2-3 years practical work experience, preferred in agribusiness, and or organizational development of farmers, preferably in a field office
• Very advanced computer skills, including Excel, Word and Power Point
• Experience in and passionate about conducting trainings - ability to engage and motivate people
• Experience in writing reports, data collection and database management
• Highly driven, motivated and willing to learn
• Passionate about field work and serving small farmers
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse array of people
• Innovative, creative and critical thinker with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and with a high focus on integrity
• Willingness to travel frequently
