Microjustice Rwanda , Communication and Marketing Officer

Summary
MJ4All is a Netherlands based non-governmental organization that seeks to enhance the ‘access to rights’ for vulnerable groups in developing countries. It does so primarily by raising awareness about the need to be registered (e.g. birth, civil registration, property registration), by providing direct support (legal consults and arranging legal documents) to persons that have difficulties accessing the procedures; and by advocating for pro-poor policies and (simplified) procedures. 

Currently, MJ4All coordinates programs in Serbia, Croatia, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda and is seeking to expand its Microjustice network. In Rwanda and Uganda, MJ4All has partnered with Microjustice Rwanda (MJR) for the implementation of a cross-border trade pilot project within the framework of the East African Community (EAC) as well as to set-up the regular Microjustice program. 

Microjustice Rwanda (MJR) is a Rwandan organization, set up in 2011. With the growth of the project and the start of the Microjustice program, MJR is looking for a Communication and Marketing Officer to be responsible for the development and implementation of a communication strategy for MJR in general and the cross-border trade project in specific as well as to increase MJR’s visibility and market MJR’s legal services. 

Scope of Work

Communication and Media
• Responsible for designing and implementing a communication and media strategy for Microjustice Rwanda as organization and a strategy specifically for the cross-border trade project. The goal is to effectively communicate the results of the activities to a number of diverse stakeholders;
• Help determine the communication and media strategy for the coalition for the removal of NTBs (part of the cross-border trade project);
• Organize media attention for MJR events and launches;
• Set-up a partnership database using a professional CRM system (eg. CiviCRM);
• Responsible for (international) dissemination of MJR/coalition reports;
• Responsible for all public relations and communication (eg. regular use of social media) in cooperation with MJR Program Manager.

Marketing
• Help design an MJR house-style and introduce and implement it within the organization;
• Help design and make flyers, brochures, business cards, etc for the organization;
• Help design and make flyers, brochures and information material for the cross-border project;
• Responsible for setting-up and maintenance of the MJR website;
• Responsible for increasing MJR’s visibility and marketing of MJR’s legal services.
• Help implement any other task as assigned by the Program Manager;

Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years work experience in communications and marketing;
• At minimum a BA in Communication and Marketing;
• Prior experience organizing public relations and dealing with media;
• Extensive knowledge of the media landscape in Rwanda and preferably also in Uganda;
• Demonstratedability to work withcomputer design programs (InDesign, photoshop, etc) for the design of business cards, flyers, etc;
• Prior experience working with social media and maintaining websites;
• Prior experience with CRM systems preferred; 
• Ability to work hard, keep deadlines and work under time pressure;
• Representative person, good interpersonal and communication skills, commercial attitude, creative, team-player, flexible attitude, result-oriented, problem-solver;
• Experience working with or in international and donor organizations;
• Fluency in spoken and written English, French and Kinyarwanda.

The position is a full-time position for a gross amount of 189000 RWF per month.
