Key Responsibilities
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access of information, and security requirements.
  • Set up all necessary security measures, controllable both by network hardware configurations and by software control.
  • Establishes the planning and executing the     selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipments.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support.
  • Monitor network performance in order to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
  • Develop and monitor performance levels of software and hardware. Evaluate, recommend, and propose alternative methods of information processing if necessary.
  • Setup, management, and maintenance of IT-related equipments.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, servers’ resources, systems and key processes. Reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and data systems are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
  • Understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Good knowledge and experience in configuring routers, switches and firewall to ensure full availability of network access from installed devices with a valid CCNA and CCNP certificates or other equivalent professional certificates.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Linux and windows administration. A valid MCITP or Linux certificates will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates in the processing of archival collections by carrying out select processing activities; coordinating and participating with assigned projects. preparing accession records, inventories and finding aids for assigned collections;
  • Provides for the preservation of and access to audiovisual materials in all collections by reassessing policies and procedures; selecting and establishing an automated system of access; and maintaining current archival standards.
  • Serves as liaison to the audio and video collections.
  • Manages reproduction and copyright issues related to use of audiovisual materials in collections.

3. Camera Operator

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and digest the script;
  • Scout all locations for better shooting;
  • Review all set plan;
  • Determine any technical details needed for shooting session;
  • Shoot camera and lens tests, especially checking the aspect ratios, lighting and appropriate format.
Shooting:
  • The camera operator will be closely involved at all times with the setting up of shots with the collection coordinator.
  • Collection coordinator may have very strong ideas on photographic style and/or framing and lenses and impose these on the production.
  • Once it has been decided how a sequence will be filmed in rehearsals, the camera operator will be involved with the collection coordinator on the choice of lenses and the way the camera may move.
  • The camera operator will then supervise the 1st and 2nd assistants (AC) and the Grips to set up the shots while lighting and rehearsal of actors are in progress.
  • The Operator will check with the Script Supervisor that directions and eye lines (lefts and rights) are correct – although for a camera operator this should be instinctive.
  • Check for any irregularities with make-up, hair and costume that may not have been recognized during the initial recording preparations.
  • Check for any off-set items that may have crept onto the set such as lamp stands, cables and unwanted props or crew personal possessions.
  • Rehearse the scene and fine tune all camera moves.
  • Shooting involves the camera operator looking through the eyepiece, panning and tilting the camera to follow the action.
  • After each take the camera operator will be able to say or should say to the collection coordinator or/and Director of Production whether or not the shot was good technically.
  • With the almost universal use of video assist, many people can have an opinion about a shot, but the camera operator should still have his say, as he knows what he’s looking at and what for.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Experience with audio and video technologies.
  • Dynamic, creative and organized.
  • Fluent in English or French (reading, writing and speaking).
  • Any experience about interviewing techniques may be helpful.
  • Strong experience in video production will be added advantage.

General Description:

The Higher Education Officer will aid in the creation of a Department of Research and Documentation. The Higher Education Officer will work within the Unit of Research, Higher Education, and Policy to enhance programs for university students, academics, PhD students and professors in their ability to learn about the Genocide against the Tutsi first-hand at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design curriculum for a higher-education academic summer course for university students.
  • Create and manage a pilot 3-week summer course for university students, based on academic, historical, and International Relations content.
  • Design and manage curriculum for professional education at the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
  • Create partnerships with universities in Rwanda and internationally, inviting them to participate in courses and professional development opportunities at the KGM.

General Description: 
The Policy Officer will provide support to the SIDA funded grant at the Kigali Genocide Memorial, to work with influential policymakers in Rwanda and form connections to strengthen awareness of the programs of the Kigali Genocide Memorial. The Policy Officer will aid in the creation of a Department of Research and Documentation. The Policy Officer will work within the Unit of Research, Higher Education, and Policy to enhance the policy impact of Aegis programs and activities within Rwanda and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Form relationships and build connections with Members of Parliament, Senators, NGOs, and other policymakers in Rwanda and internationally.
  • Advise influential policymakers of the programs of Aegis and gain partnership in funding, support, and space to expand programs of education, commemoration programs, social programs, and programs for survivors.
  • Work with policymakers as an advisor on the new national curriculum to teach the Genocide against the Tutsi in secondary schools across Rwanda.
  • Work with judicial officials to strengthen the connection between education and the justice system.
  • Work on human rights and prevention policies in conjunction with government agencies.

General Description:
The role holder will provide management of Monitoring and Evaluation within SIDA funded Rwanda Peace Education Program (RPEP) and the Genocide Research and Reconciliation Program (GRRP) and oversee the program’s team in the design, collection, and analysis of data from routine program monitoring as well as evaluating the impact of Aegis Trust program, and will also manage the external evaluation program. The M&E Manager will also assist in building the capacity of staff in their analysis and dissemination of data, and coordinate information management and reporting systems. The overall objective of this role is to develop and maintain effective systems for the monitoring and evaluation of RPEP and GRRP, to analyze the output of this evaluation and present the findings to a variety of audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guides and manages the development and implementation of a clear M&E plan for the RPEP.
  • Reviews M&E plan in grant applications particularly Log frame indicators and means of verification.
  • Manages the RPEP external evaluation process working with the M&E consultant.
  • Manages M&E for the GRRP with the Director of Program and DfID.
  • Establish systems and standards for regular assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of the program against its objectives and expected outputs.
  • Undertakes regular visits to the field with partners to monitor project processes;
  • Produces M&E reports for the RPEP Partner Coordination Group.
  • Establishes an M&E capacity building plan.
  • He or she will be able to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, as well as report on findings from monitoring activities.

General Description: 
The National Youth coordinator will work with the International Youth Coordinator setting up and implementing a number of new peace-building youth programmes. The role is for at least 24 months and up to 36 months, after the first 12 months the National Coordinator will take the lead in running the programme and will train a second national coordinator. During the first year the work will focus on youth activities related to the 20th Commemoration of the Rwandan Genocide and preparing and implementing the training of young peace-builders. The following years will include coordinating an international conference, national tours and continuing to implement peace-building training for Rwandan Youth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing the training programme for “youth ambassadors” and “youth champions”
  • Coordinating youth activities around community visits as part of the Aegis’ education outreach programme.
  • Implementing youth activities in a coordinated schedule in the context of the 20th commemoration activities.
  • Recruiting and training a second National Youth Coordinator during year 2.
  • Establishing a network and database of international youth contacts.
  • Developing initial concepts for an international youth conference then coordinating the conference.
  • Managing the budget areas of youth activity to ensure there is no overspend.
Knowledge and Experience
Educated to degree level with at least 2 year experience leading youth activities. Experience working with youth in schools, universities and other youth structures with a focus on enabling youth to be active.  Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda with the ability to speak French an advantage.

General Description:
The purpose of this role is to manage the Country Director and Directors of Programmes office and provide a consistently high standard of professional support in order to ensure that they are able to operate in an efficient manner and maximise the use of their time.   The Executive Officer will act as first point of contact for the Country Director and Directors of Programmes, acting as ‘gatekeeper’ to both internal and external contacts.

Key Responsibilities
1. Stakeholder Management
  • Communicate and build relationships with internal management staff and board members.  Liaise with Heads of Department on behalf of the Country Director and Director of Programmes.
  • Develop strong relationships with external stakeholders including Government of Rwanda contacts, members of the diplomatic community, NGO partners, institutional and private funders.   
  • Manage extensive contacts database, ensuring appropriate use of data by all staff.
  • Facilitate successful visits and functions for staff, external stakeholders and dignitaries.
2. Management Support
  • Produce letters, reports, speeches and papers as requested, undertaking research and liaising with the Heads of Department team.
  • Research and compile briefings; provide pre-meeting oral briefings.
  • Contribute to programme design as directed by senior management: conduct supporting research, compose grant narratives and compile basic financial information when directed.
  • Prepare management reporting materials for both internal and external use.  
  • Support internal communication to enhance information sharing: compile weekly Rwanda update, act as point of contact for UK staff.
3. Logistics and Administration
  • Provide administrative support to the Country Director and Director of Programmes including the scheduling, coordination and minuting meetings; oversee travel arrangements and liaise with the finance department.
  • Manage the diary of the Country Director and Director of Programmes.  Organise meeting venues and facilitate travel arrangements.
  • Oversee general office duties including coordinating lunches, arranging couriers, managing and booking meeting rooms.
  • Work with the internal controls team, ensuring procedures followed appropriately by staff.
  • Utilise strong IT skills to develop and implement processes to ensure appropriate knowledge management and efficient record keeping.
  • Line manage the Office Assistant / Intern to support delivery of the above as appropriate
Knowledge and Experience Required (must have):
  • Bachelors degree
  • 2+ years in similar role or project related experience in the third sector.
  • Knowledge of donor funding and proposal submissions.
  • Exceptional ability to organise, communicate and maintain the highest standard of professionalism.
  • Proven research skills.
Desirable:
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field i.e. Human Rights; Genocide Studies; International Relations etc.
  • Project Management Qualification
  • Experience in M&E and knowledge of “Theory of Change”.

Key Responsibilities
  • This position is critical to ensuring a successful education outreach program on peacemaking. The successful candidate will work with Aegis and the Rwanda Peace Education Program with primary responsibility for all aspects of organizing and delivering the program including:  
  • Working with local school and government authorities to ensure full understanding of the program.
  • Implementation of aspects of RPEP (Rwanda Peace Education Program) outreach communication program to districts and community organizations to ensure full participation, and to work with the RPEP communications officer.
  • Liaison with RPEP partners and local organizations to establish a suitable site for the exhibition community visits.
  • Working with RPEP on a strategy for implementation of the planned program.
  • Identify and coordinate all logistical aspects of the outreach program including transport of exhibition, staff travel, accommodation, per diems, site security, meals for participants and so on.

  • Provide evidence-based analysis about Aegis programs, to inform future programming.

  • Connect with the documentation Centre to build partnerships and host researchers in the Genocide Archive of Rwanda and the new Department of Research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting Internal Control evaluation and risk assessment to identify loopholes and areas requiring management intervention to prevent frauds, embezzlements, misappropriations, misuse and wastage and ensuring the objectives of the organization are achieved economically, efficiently and effectively.
  • Preparing an Annual Internal Audit Plan based on risk assessment including tasks, assignments and timelines for completion for each task and main activities, personnel to be employed, and reporting results of audit.
  • Preparing special reports when asked for by the management on various aspects of financial management, including asset management and security, financial reporting, decision support system, management information systems.
  • Assisting the finance department in critical areas like meeting financial obligations under procurements and the process itself. Specifying internal checks including pre-audit checks, adherence to policies, procedures and compliance with rules, laws and regulations to ensure that payments to contractors are made by them in accordance with stipulated guidelines of the government and donors.
  • Ensuring that systems exist for generation of accurate and reliable financial and other information.
  • Conducting any other related task that may be assigned by the management.
Knowledge and Experience: 
The applicant to qualify should have MBA Finance, Chartered Accountant, M Com, certified Internal Auditor or in case of fully qualified chartered accountant minimum experience of 4 years and in case of others 7 years experience of developing and implementing internal controls and conducting audit.

Knowledge/Skills Required (must have): 
He or she must have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills along with strong organizational ability; must be able to obtain, analyze and evaluate a variety of information; organize, interpret and present it in a meaningful oral or written form for varied audiences and provide solid analysis leading to sound decision making. Excellent interpersonal and a high degree of computer literacy are preferred.
