Plan has been working in Tanzania since 1991; it operates in 6 areas, Mwanza, Geita, Ifakara, Kibaha,Kisarawe and Dar es Salaam. Plan Tanzania works with 30,000 sponsored children, their families and their communities implementing programmes at grassroots level in health, education, water and sanitation, income generation and building relationship across cultures.
Child Labour project is a European Union funded project which aims at addressing Child labour issues at seven wards in Geita. Plan Tanzania now invites applications from suitable, qualified and experienced persons to fill the following vacancy;
Job Summary
To monitor the implementation of the EC funded Child Labour Project in Geita Program Unit
Job Requirements
Responsible for promoting Child Rights practices through community trainings, meeting anddialogues.
Responsible for monitoring the implementation of project plans in collaboration with local government, partners and communities.
Supervise the project activities and carry out regular monitoring visits and reports.
Facilitate formation of community structures to deal with child labour.
Facilitate community capacity building on Child protection and how to address child labour problems.
Work with and maintain good relationships with district, especially the departments of social welfare, community Development, Education, Planning, mining, police and other agencies including small scale miners association working in project area .
Collection of data from the community and preparation of regular reports on activities implemented.
Develop case studies and success stories for the project area.
Prepare project visits and conduct baseline survey to the community
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Promotes and abides by internal policies and procedures including but not limited to: Child Protection Policy, Code of Conduct and mandatory reporting responsibility.

Proficient in use of relevant corporate applications
Cultural sensitivity i.e. building and working effectively within a diverse working
environment
Able to work with complexity and ambiguity.
Qualifications and Experience
University degree in community development/social science/ development studies
A master degree in any of the above areas will be an added advantage
Training on partnership and project management, Human Rights Conventions i.e.
CRC
Experience in community and/or international development including large project
management, experience in managing Child labour or other large multi-year grants- based program implementation.
Child Protection
Plan Tanzania is a child centered organization. Protecting the rights of the children is of paramount interest to us. Subsequently, all short listed candidates will undergo a police vetting check for criminaloffences particularly relating to any type of child abuse. The successful candidate will be required to sign and adhere to the Plan Tanzania child protection policy.
