Mzumbe University is collaborating with Belgian Flemish Interuniversity Council - University Development Cooperation (VLIR – UOS) to implement a six year programme of “Governance and Entrepreneurship Through
Research Education, Access and Technology for Tanzania (GRE@T)”. The programme focuses on building capacity in teaching, research, and outreach services cum community engagement. Good governance and entrepreneurship are the main themes of the development interventions. Now the Project invites qualified applicants for the following position:
Post Title: Programme Manager
Duty Station: Main Campus, Mzumbe
Reports to: Local Pragramme Coordinator
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Manage the MU-IUC programme office.
· Prepare project documents –PPs, APs and reports in consultation with the Project Leaders.
· Facilitate transport and accommodation arrangements for international visitors, scholars and other staff and draw up scripts for such visits in consultation with PLs.
· Provide accurate financial overviews of project expenditures for every steering committee or management meeting and relay on these matters on regular basis with finance team both in the North and South.
· Manage purchase, distribution and monitoring of MU-IUC project materials and equipment.
· Responsible for the financial and accounting of the programme fund
· Manage all communications between the VLIR-UOS-IUC and MU with consultation with the project leaders.
· Manage all project staff and assets with consultation with the Local Programme Coordinator
· Spearhead the VLIR-UOS-IUC database
· Carry out any additional duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Local Programme coordinator.
Experience and Qualifications required
· Holder of a Master’s degree in Project Management, Economics or
Business Administration from a recognized University;
· Knowledge and competence in ICT applications related to Project Cycle
Management (PCM).
· Experience in dealing with multicultural or international organization together with competence in spoken and written English and Swahili languages are added advantage.
Tenure and remuneration:
One year renewable contract based on performance.
Remuneration:
Minimum Tshs. 2,000,000.00 per month.
