Client Technical Specialist – Global Techline

Client Technical Specialists are technical consultants to Clients, IBM Sales teams and IBM Business Partners. They understand the Client's business requirements, technical requirements and competitive landscape. They provide technical sales support which may include: collaborate with IBM Sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions; design solutions; and answer technical questions. When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, they are responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution.

A Client Technical Specialist (CTS) in the Global Techline role will have technical skill/experience in one or more IBM hardware brand portfolios, (ie Storage, Power, PureSystems, System x), to provide remote support to both IBM Business Partner and IBM Sales teams. The candidate should demonstrate an understanding of specific IBM storage or server platforms and associated operating systems and software. A broad understanding of the general brand-related marketplace, including competitive and market trends is a plus. The position requires frequent communication with IBM Channels Sales teams, Technical Sales teams, and Clients. It also requires collaboration across Global Techline and other Technical sales groups and skill sharing to enable technical sales peers in areas of expertise.

While the role is not client facing, consultative selling skills are a plus. Excellent communication, presentation and people skills are required.
Required
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 3 years experience in Developing Hardware Configurations
  • At least 3 years experience in Advising Technical Solution Sales
  • At least 3 years experience in Advise technically on IBM hardware in a specific brand
  • English: Fluent
Preferred
  • Technical Diploma in Information Technology
  • At least 4 years experience in Developing Hardware Configurations
  • At least 4 years experience in Advising Technical Solution Sales
  • At least 4 years experience in Advise technically on IBM hardware in a specific brand
