Objectives
Administer the Bank’s compensation and job classification programme to support the effective implementation of its compensation and benefits policy, in line with its strategy to recruit, motivate and retain staff with a high level of professional excellence; determine the appropriate level of Bank staff salaries and benefits through periodic surveys and job classification.
Duties and responsibilities
Under the direction of the Manager, Human Resources Policies, Programmes and Strategies Division; and the supervision of the Chief Compensation and Benefits Officer, the incumbent shall:
- Participate in the planning, formulation and development of compensation and job classification policies and procedures;
- Analyse data and structures related to compensation and job classification
- Participate in general surveys on salaries, benefits and practices in other organizations, and other activities relating to the Bank’s overall compensation package;
- Monitor the Bank’s comparator systems and the cost of living, exchange rates and living conditions in the host country, as well as the policies of other organizations relating to these systems;
- Administer the Bank’s job evaluation system with responsibility for constant coordination of processes and related activities;
- Provide views, advice and technical support for implementation of classification policies and procedures, including the preparation of training sessions on the Bank’s job classification system and the formulation of job descriptions ;
- Respond to requests for assistance from departments in preparing job description documentation or resolving evaluation-related problems;
- Design and formulate recommendations concerning grades, as well as all relevant documentation and information;
- Review vacancy notices to ensure conformity with the corresponding job descriptions;
- Carry out day-to-day organizational management using SAP and supervise compensation and job classification assistants; and
- Perform other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
Including desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- At least a Master's degree or equivalent in human resource management, organizational development or other related disciplines;
- A minimum of six (6) years’ relevant experience in compensation and job classification. A Job evaluation certification is highly desirable;
- Knowledge and experience in organizational efficiency;
- Strong client orientation and capacity to build and manage relationships at all levels;
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural team and environment. Perception and understanding of cultural, nationality and gender differences;
- Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic and demanding professional environment; manage several tasks at a time; meet deadlines and work independently with minimum supervision;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills;
- Competence in the use of Bank standard software (Word, Excel, Excel, PowerPoint, MS). Knowledge of SAP will be an asset; and
- Excellent spoken and written English or French, with a good working knowledge of the other language.
