Desired Skills & Experience

Looking for a Principal Tailings Engineer / Geotechnical Engineer / Technical Manager that has:

• Solid design experience in the tailings / mine waste and geotechnical industry (+5 years in the Mine Waste and Tailings industry, preferably +15 years exp). Solid experience in all phases of tailings / mine waste projects from concept development through to operations and closure.
• Ability to lead the technical team and represent the company to clients (Mining Houses and EPCM Project Houses).
• Able to work well with the Business Unit Manager who will do the general management and business development.  
• Strong technical and communication abilities to prepare and sign off client submissions (reports, drawings, presentations etc.)
• Project Managed Tailings and Mine Waste projects
• Manage engineers and staff to achieve the deliverables as well as do design and related work as the team lead.
• Professional Eng / Technologist required
• Thorough knowledge of the relevant related software

Experience in the Tailings / Mine Waste industry to include:

• Design and inspection of main tailings storage facilities, mine waste dumps and related infrastructure;
• Site investigations;
• Stability, seepage and hydrology analyses;
• Construction of Tailings Storage and Mine Waste Facilities;
• Good understanding of operations of Tailings and Mine Waste Facilities;
• Water storage dams and earthworks;
• Mine Closure and reclamation
