Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the General Manager you will effectively plan, direct, coordinate and manage the Operations Department.

The incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

• Own the primary relationship with the allocated portfolio of clients
• Develop and maintain a client relationship management strategy for allocated portfolio of clients
• Ensure client satisfaction and retention through relationship-building at all levels
• Negotiate, monitor and manage service level agreements internally and externally
• Manage operations staff to ensure implementation of actions from client meetings, timely production of material for client meetings and adherence to service level agreements for all funds processing
• Attend client meetings and represent Metropolitan Life Tanzania in all matters relating to the operations
• Facilitate the acquisition of new business and follow up on leads of potential clients
• Provide expert advice on all product related matters
• Ensure that efficient and effective business processes for all products
• Ensure the ongoing development and enhancement of staff skills and potential in order to achieve levels of competency as well as exceed personal performance excellence
• Ensure the timeous and appropriate staffing and deployment of resources in order to support the set business objectives
• Create and maintain a working environment within the business to ensure high levels of morale, performance, motivation, mutual respect and team spirit
• Ensure the maintenance of discipline and adherence to internal processes and codes of conduct relating to the specific area of responsibility

The role will be based in Dar es Salaam

Desired Skills & Experience

The applicant should meet these requirements:

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 7 years’ relevant insurance  industry experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Strong leader, self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented, hands-on and results driven
