The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal is established under the Political Parties Act, No.11 of 2011 and its jurisdiction is to determine; disputes between members of a political party; disputes between a member of a political party and a political party; disputes between political parties; disputes between an independent candidate and a political party; disputes between coalition partners; and appeals from decisions of the Registrar under the Political Parties Act 2011.
Pursuant to Section 39 (2)(b) and 43 of the Political Parties Act, No.11 of 2011, the Judicial Service Commission of Kenya invites applications from qualified persons for the following positions:-
Secretary for the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.

Period of Service: Five (5) years
The Judicial Service Commission is mandated to appoint the Secretary and such other staff of the Tribunal necessary for the proper functioning of the Tribunal.
The Secretary shall ensure effective and efficient operations of the Tribunal and be accountable to the members of the Tribunal in developing and implementing plans, activities, policies, decisions, programmes and accountability mechanism.
Functions and responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the day to day affairs of the Tribunal;
- Drive the Tribunal’s vision and mission through the implementation of its Programmes and Plans;
- Mobilize and manage the resources of the Tribunal to achieve its core mandate;
- Prepare the Tribunal’s Annual Plans and Estimates;
- Oversee financial and administrative management of the Tribunal;
- Ensure financial reporting & accountability in accordance with the law, GoK procedures and guidelines of the Judiciary; and
- Provide requisite leadership to ensure the Tribunal attains a high level of competitiveness and ethical standards in its entire programmes.
The Secretary shall hold office for a term of five (5) years.
Requirements for appointment:
- Be a citizen of the Republic of Kenya;
- Hold a degree in Law, Management, Administration or other Social Sciences, from a university recognized in Kenya;
- Have at least ten (10) years proven experience at management level; and
- Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.

- Certified copies of certificates, testimonials and professional certificates and academic transcripts.
- Applicants are also required to forward one (1) hard copy of the completed Employment Application Form including all the attachments cited above.
