Title: Program Officer
Duty Station: Various, rural field sites
Duration: 1-year service contract, with 3-month probationary period.

Position Description
The Program Officer provides technical support to TCC-supported, MoH-GOSS Southern Sudan Guinea Worm Eradication Programme and at-times the Trachoma Control Programme. The position is based in a rural area where living conditions are basic. Primary responsibilities of the position are to:
1. Manage program area-of-responsibility including human, transport and logistical resources.
2. Ensure implementation of program technical guidelines.
3. Establish, oversee, and support a community-level surveillance system.
4. Supervise field officers to implement trachoma control and Guinea worm eradication interventions.
5. Train and support community structures for surveillance and intervention delivery.
6. Liaise with governmental and non-governmental partners to achieve community-based health program objectives.
This position is under the overall supervision of the SSGWEP Director, Ministry of Health-GOSS and TCC Resident Technical Advisor, with direct supervision from the relevant Regional Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Minimum –
a) Sudanese National
b) Fluency in English and at least one local language
c) College Degree, AND at least three (3) years progressive experience in implementation of community-based programs in Southern Sudan, or a university degree and at least two (2) years relevant, progressive experience.
d) Demonstrated ability to generate budgets and financial reports.
e) Demonstrated ability to generate monthly narrative reports.
f) Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Preferred -
a) Medical background.
b) Fluency in Dinka and / or Taposa
c) Demonstrated ability with data management computer software applications – e.g. Excel, Access, etc.
