The Ministry of East African Community (MINEAC) would like to recruit competentpermanent staff as follows:
Professional in Charge of Political, Defense, Peace and Security Affairs
- Follow-up on the Foreign policy coordination (inter -State relations);
- Human Rights, the rule of Law and access to justice;
- Follow-up on the development of a framework on good governance;
- Follow-up on the activities of electoral commissions;
- Participate in the development and thereafter implementation of the protocol on EAC anti- corruption;
- Follow-up on the activities of the EAC Forum for Political Parties;
- Provide quarterly report of the progress of the activities in the Sector;
- Coordinate the EAC political federation negotiations;
- Follow-up on development of policies and programs in the security & Defense sector;
- Follow-up on the coordination of EAC SALW programme;
- Follow-up on EAC training operations;
- Follow-up on the exchange of visits of the security and defense personnel;
- Follow-up on the implementation of Early warning and Response Mechanism;
- Follow-up on Joint operations and patrols;
- Follow-up on the coordination of the exercise of exchange of criminals among Partners States;
- Coordinate the disaster management and response activities of Sectoral Councils on Cooperation in Defense & Inter-State Security;
- Provide quarterly report of the progress of the activities in the Sector;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Minister or by the Permanent Secretary;
- Report all activities to the Director of Social, Political, Legal and Judicial Affairs.
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Political Science, Law, International Relations, Peace and Security Studies, International Relations, Conflict Management and Resolution or Bachelors Degree (A0) in Political Science, Law, International Relations, Peace and Security Studies, International Relations, Conflict Management and Resolution or any other related field with 2 years working experience.
