The Ministry of East African Community (MINEAC) would like to recruit competentpermanent staff as follows:
Professional in Charge of Health and Community Development
- Coordinate EAC projects and programmes related to health agenda in the areas of HIV and Aids, STIs, Tuberculosis & Malaria, Disease Prevention and Control, Health Systems Development, Health Research and Policy, Medicines and Food Safety, Reproductive, Child, Adolescent Health & Nutrition;
- Participate in undertaking joint actions towards the prevention and control of communication and vector-borne diseases;
- Participate in harmonization of pharmaceutical standards and drug policies in EAC;
- Follow up on the Implementation of health policies and exchange of experience in the community;
- Participate in development of framework for mainstreaming gender aspects in all EAC activities and the enhancement of the role of women in cultural, social, political, economic and technological development;
- Participate in formulation of EAC youth and children policies;
- Participate in formulation of EAC civil society, social protection and Community development strategies;
- Participate in the formulation of regional gender policies and expedite implementation of agreed areas of cooperation within the Beijing platform of actions, and the development of the framework for mainstreaming gender aspects in EAC;
- Follow up on the implementation of Summit and Council decisions regarding gender and community development;
- Report all activities related to health, gender and community development to the Director of social sector;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Minister or by the Permanent Secretary;
- Report all activities to the Director of Social, Political, Legal and Judicial Affairs.
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Public Health, Sociology or Bachelors Degree (A0)in Public Health, Sociology or any other related field with 2 years working experience.
