Under the general guidance of the Chief of Planning, you will support the Programme Planning Section’s functions especially related to budget and funding activities as well as in the preparation of annual cycle related documents within the country programme of US$ 156 million.
Qualification:
University degree in Social Sciences or other related field; advance degree in Social Sciences an advantage. Two years progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in social development, management, monitoring and evaluation Fluency in English and another UN language required. Knowledge of the Portuguese as a working language of the duty station is an asset
Key Expected Results: 1. Evaluates and analyzes financial and supply reports to ensure that expenditures are within the allotments and that data is consistent with PROMS/PIDB; and reports to the supervisor on details of the outcome of reviews.
Undertakes follow-up actions on programme implementation activities and prepares reports; drafts changes in the programme workplans as required; prepares annual review documentations; prepares project proposals in line with donor programmatic and financial requirements; and prepares sectoral generic proposals as plans emerge.
Assists in the preparation of the country programme documents by drafting reports of relevant sections required for the donors and the managment; maintains a computerized programme system, and submits necessary reports; prepares draft annual report, CAP report and assists in the preparation of ad hoc donor reports and produce updated monthly programme report
Drafts emergency proposals and reports and maintains documentation to track contributions received and their usage.
Attends technical cooperation meetings; prepares notes and undertakes follow-up actions related to programme implementation.
Collects and analyzes data for the Situation Analysis, programme/project planning, management, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation purposes. Analyzes programme implementation reports and evaluates in relation to established programme recommendations and plans of action. Reports the outcome of analyses and proposes corrective actions.
Undertakes ongoing visits to UNICEF project sites, assesses local conditions and resources, and monitors UNICEF inputs.
