1. Aim of the job and main tasks
• To develop and maintain external communication, feature articles, speeches and press briefings for media, special functions, launches and other events.
• To Establishing a communication strategy for publishing data and information.
• To Develop media strategies to promote and raise public awareness at national level of objectives activities and impact of Programme.
• To Create Programme literature and other forms of communication;
Copyedit, proofread, and revise communications;
• To Create and deliver press releases, media relations content, case studies, white papers, executive bios, Programme newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals;
• To Identify, develop and execute communications strategy for key media contacts and stakeholders references; and Manage information.
• To post blog and writing of monthly report.
• To be government liaison.
2. Deliverables
Programmatic
• To assemble and editing staff monthly report and sending to the top management make sure all there all in place.
• To post blog to MSABI blogger weekly.
• Assist to organise events;
• Assist project staff with travel arrangements and bookings;
• Post and keep social media content/news about the project up to date;
• Follow up on success stories and project updates from technical staff and grants team;
• Generate success story ideas and research;
• Gather interesting Trade and Agribusiness related news pieces for the Project News Round-Up;
• Any other additional reasonable duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator.
Reporting
• To report all results in an a server-based database
• Ensure monthly, quarterly and annual reports are submitted to MSABI core management team.
• Monthly reports are due by the 7th day of the following month.
• Monthly program update report – bullet point format due the last Wednesday of each month
• Meeting MSABI social media requirements. Ensuring a monthly blog report.
Communication Plan
• Weekly meetings or as otherwise required by Country Program Manager
• Emergency calls/email are welcome at anytime and should be made without hesitation
3. Internal relations
• Direct supervisors country program manager, WASH Research Coordinator, Environmental Science Officer and the Country Program Manager.
4. Qualifications and experience required
• Minimum Qualifications and Experience
• A degree in Mass Communication, Public relation or any related field
• Good understanding of administrations;
• At least 3 years of relevant experience;
• Experience with community outreach Programme and public relations; and
• Proven experience in helping development Programme to achieve tangible benefits; Fluency in Swahili and English.
