The Foundation seeks to recruit a Knowledge Management Expert to support the knowledge management function of the African Community of Practice (AfCoP); building the AfCoP network and expanding its membership, assisting in the setting up and supporting of thematic working groups and promoting leadership to increase member participation, and exchange between key players within the Managing for Development Results (MfDR) landscape. Specific responsibilities will among others include:
1. Ensure effective delivery of MfDR knowledge products and services:
a) Prepare and publish regular blog posts that provide an update on: relevant MfDR topics, publications, events, activities, etc.;
b) Upgrade the outreach system to engage AfCoP members on a regular basis.
c) Support the development of a content management plan detailing the list of thematic studies to be undertaken and the list of blog posts as well as discussions guidelines for online publication;
d) Regularly translate short materials between French and English.
2. Prepare the yearly African Forum and other MfDR-related events:
a) Work and follow-up with participants to develop case studies and presentations, and make them readily available ahead of time.
b) Edit and contribute knowledge to produce high-quality and presentations.
3. Support online national CoPs and thematic groups, as well as engaging partners, include:
a) Develop and launch online spaces for CoPs and thematic group;
b) Maintain workspace and support working groups around selected issues;
c) Coordinate the various AfCoP groups (continental, regional, national, and thematic) to ensure flow of relevant content across spaces and ensure linkages;
4. Ensure the AfCoP website and resource center is vibrant and updated through:
a) Ensuring that the AfCoP platform is operational, user-friendly and attractive;
b) Monitor and analyze the AfCoP membership growth;
c) Liaise with AfCoP webmaster to update web pages and draft new content about the AfCoP itself, ensuring that the text for upload is easy to read and presented in a concise manner.
d) Map existing results-related networks and initiatives, and ensure that they are cross-referenced.
Selection Criteria
Selection will be on a competitive basis and the following minimum qualifications, experience and competencies are required:
- Advanced university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Policy Analysis, Finance or any other related discipline.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the international development field, leading research activities, knowledge of results-based management and public sector management;
- Extensive practical experience in managing online discussions and similar community of practice is desirable.
- Familiarity with Africa and experience working with African partners
- A reputable style and skill in communicating with government officials, academia, and civil societies in developing countries
- A reputable style and skill in communicating with government officials, academia, and civil societies in developing countries;
- Excellent English and French language skills are strongly desired.
