Topic Editors, Global Water Forum

The Global Water Forum has vacancies for new Topic Editors to join our Editorial Team. We are seeking postgraduate students with an interest in freshwater governance to join our global network of voluntary interns. The Topic Editor role is a flexible one which provides a range of opportunities to self-motivated individuals. Positions will be held for an initial period of 6 months. Role overview: - The Topic Editor drives the content of their particular topic, with input from the rest of the Editorial Team. The main task is to source 800-1200 word GWF articles related to the topic. Topics include: Development, Energy, Agriculture etc. - Topic Editors source articles from leading researchers and practitioners, working with authors through the editorial process under the supervision of the Managing Editors. - Articles may be accessible summaries of journal articles, opinion pieces, project-related articles, or unpublished research articles.

Duties: - Topic Editors aim to source one article per month. - Topic Editors collaborate with each other to produce series' of articles related to different aspects of major water issues. - Topic Editors participate in bi-monthly Editorial Team meetings (via Skype) to discuss development of the site, prospective articles, and new initiatives. - Topic Editors have the opportunity to periodically self-publish articles related to their research or other activities.

The role of a Topic Editor is a flexible one that does not require stipulated time inputs per week. Beyond sourcing articles, Topic Editors will also be given the opportunity to become involved in other activities if they wish, such as editing books, liaising with partner organisations, organising webinars, developing online courses, among other activities. The level of additional engagement is up to the individual and we aim to create an environment where enterprising individuals can take advantage of the many professional opportunities associated with the role.

We are looking for postgraduate students with an interest in freshwater issues whom are self-motivated, have a high level of proficiency in written english, ability to work both independently and within a team, and have a keen attention for detail. Experience working with WordPress would be desirable but is not necessary.

Positions will be held for an initial period of 6 months, with a view to extension following consultation with the supervising Managing Editor.

Positions are currently available for the following topics: Water Security, Development, Agriculture, Energy,Water Quality, and Environment.
