Westat is seeking an experienced food security specialist for a USAID contract dealing with evaluation of food security programs in the multiple developing countries of Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The contract involves performance monitoring surveys, impact evaluations, knowledge management, and in-country capacity building. Responsibilities include participating in the design and development of surveys, impact evaluations, and data collection instruments; analysis of data; preparation of country-specific reports; contributions to knowledge management; and assistance with capacity building projects. Qualified candidates will have a broad range of subject matter expertise and demonstrated experience in the areas of food security programs; other agricultural and nutritional programs; and economic development programs in at least one of the named regions. Must have excellent verbal and written English skills; French, Portuguese, or Spanish language capabilities are desirable. The ability to work in a team environment is essential. A Ph.D in Food Security Management, Agricultural Science, or a relevant discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in developing country food security, agricultural, nutritional, or economic development programs is required.
