Westat, a leading research organization, is seeking an experienced agricultural economist to work as a consultant on a USAID contract dealing with evaluation of food security programs in multiple developing countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The contract involves performance monitoring surveys, impact evaluations, knowledge management, and in-country capacity building. Responsibilities include participation in the design and development of surveys, impact evaluations, and data collection instruments; analysis of data related to economic issues; assistance with the preparation of country-specific reports; contributions to knowledge management; and assistance with capacity building projects. Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated experience in the areas of developing country agricultural policy and economic analysis in at least one of the regions noted above. Must have excellent verbal and written English skills; French, Portuguese, or Spanish language capabilities are desirable. The ability to work in a team environment is essential. A graduate degree in agricultural economics or a relevant discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the areas of developing country agricultural policy and economics is required.
