We have an exciting and challenging opportunity to take your strategic management skills and health services expertise to the cutting edge of the global development sector – join Marie Stopes International as Director of Private Sector Partnerships, based in Kampala, Uganda, and help us transform millions of lives.
As the Director of Private Sector Partnerships, you will be a member of the Executive Management team (EMT) and will contribute to the shaping and fulfilment of Marie Stopes Uganda’s strategic direction. This will include, but by no means be limited to, the development of demand-side financing, social marketing activites and MSU’s’ Social Franchise ‘BlueStar’. You will have strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences. In addition you will have previous experience in a senior management and leadership position with a track record of developing financial solutions and achieving results.
Knowledge and experience of health services is essential, ideally gained in both an academic and professional environment. You will also have a good knowledge of Uganda’s Health environment and be able to use quantitative evaluation to measure success and to meet KPIs. As a leader, your team members will find you approachable and responsive to their needs. Externally, you will ensure strong partnerships and collaborations with religious forums, professional bodies and other public sector departments that expand public-private partnership opportunities. Through your skills and experience, you will help us to drive and expand MSU’s business.
The post will be based in Kampala, though there will be frequent travel throughout Uganda and occasionally overseas.
Marie Stopes Uganda (MSU) is a results-orientated, non-profit, social enterprise, which uses modern management techniques to provide family planning, sexual, reproductive and maternal health services. The goal of Marie Stopes Uganda is to meet the needs of underserved communities and to dramatically improve access and use of reproductive health services in partnership with the Ministry of Health. Marie Stopes Uganda provides services to over 250,000 women and men each year.
