Resilience Profiling and Capacities for Peace Analysis of Adolescents and Out-of-School Children in Burundi

UNICEF BURUNDI seeks a consultant to conduct an analysis of the capacities for resilience and peace of adolescents and out-of-school children in Burundi, within the framework of the Peacebuilding, Education, and Advocacy Programme Duration: 60 days Purpose of the consultancy: The overall purpose of the consultancy will be to prepare, manage, and coordinate research profiling the existing resilience strategies and capacities for peace of adolescents and out-of-school children. This analysis will inform programme design for the Peacebuilding, Education, and Advocacy programme through an action research approach, and will also feed into UNICEF’s broader country programme where applicable. The consultant will be responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing a team of local adolescents acting as enumerators/profilers to support the research. The consultant will be identified through a competitive bidding process on the basis of the methodological proposals submitted.

The work of the consultant should build on the findings of previous research undertaken or planned within the framework of the PBEA, including the meta-analysis of existing quantitative data, and the literature review, both of which are foreseen for the period immediately preceding this consultancy. The findings of these two prior research components should inform both content and methodology of the resilience profiling.
