Plan Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa (RESA) invites tenders from qualified writers for a Plan WARO/RESA publication: The Pan-African BIAAG Report 2013 on Situation of Adolescent Girls in Disasters
QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
The consultant needs to comply with the following profile:
• 5 years of proven experience in development and/or disaster prevention and response writing with a specialization on adolescent girls in emergencies, child protection or gender
• A track record of at least 5 major publications in a relevant topic for a major development organization or UN institutions
• Solid understanding of the issues of disasters, gender, protection in Africa
• Excellent writing skills in English and the ability to analyze resource documents in English and French.
MANAGEMENT OF THE CONSULTANCY AND SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS
Work will be coordinated at the Plan Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office by the Regional Communication Manager.
TIMETABLE
Deadline of proposal submission: April 30th 2013
Deadline for selection of consultant: May 3th 2013
Contract start: May 6th 2013
Submission of May 23rd 2013 delivery of 1st draft output
Delivery of final output: June 14th 2013
End of contract: June 30th 2013
