CDC is an agency of the United States Mission in Uganda.” The Centers for Diseases Control is seeking an individual for the position of Public Health Specialist – Prevention Implementation Science.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Job holder provides support to CDC initiatives, contributing technical advice and guidance in the planning, implementation and monitoring of HIV/AIDS epidemiologic studies, operational research and targeted evaluation projects as they relate to prevention initiatives in CDC Uganda.
Job holder coordinates funding, report compliance and administrative recordkeeping with the implementing partners to ensure HIV/AIDS epidemiologic studies, operational research and targeted evaluation projects are conducted in accordance with the implementing agreement and that USG funds are appropriately utilized. The job requires public health technical knowledge, resultsoriented analytical skills, advocacy, and constant and clear communication with implementing partners, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and host country ministries responsible for public health prevention programs. In addition, incumbent is responsible for ensuring efforts are made to link prevention components such as HIV counseling and testing, medical male circumcision, gender inequality and other focus areas by communicating regularly and collaborating with staff in those areas. Incumbent reports to the Implementation Science Team Lead.
