The University of Sussex is undertaking an exciting expansion in the Business and Management area. In the first instance, we are inviting applications for 19 faculty positions at the Department of Business and Management. The Department is a key component of the recently established School of Business, Management and Economics - a unique research focused business school, which takes a strong policy-directed view on business practices while also developing the underlying core disciplines. We are exceptionally well placed to provide leadership in the development and dissemination of sustainable business and management practice, informed by sound economic logic. In meeting this challenge we work closely with other departments within the School, including Economics, with its strong reputation for development economics and international trade, and SPRU, the internationally recognised centre for policy related research and work on climate change and innovation.
We seek to make appointments at all levels in each of following subject areas:
- Strategy
- Accounting
- Finance
- Marketing
- International Business
- Business & Innovation - covering specifically: Information Systems, Operations Management, Operations Research, Project & Risk Management.
The Department of Business & Management is currently recruiting 8 professors via a search agency.
Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial academics who enjoy working in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment and show enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues in teaching and research. We are looking to appoint research active faculty who can make a strong contribution to our REF submission. Applicants for appointments at Reader level will be internationally recognised research leaders and have a strong track record in teaching, administration, and raising research funds. Candidates for senior lectureships will have developed a substantial publication record and teaching portfolio as well as demonstrated the ability to raise research funds and/or take on administrative roles. Applicants for lectureships will have experience in convening courses and demonstrate their potential as researchers through first publications.
