Programme Officer – East Africa (£32,005 to £34,600 - Gross) 12 months maternity cover Based in London
We are recruiting a Programme Officer to oversee the implementation of a growing portfolio of grants in East Africa (primarily in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia), funded through DfiD and through the European Union.
Based in London, with regular visits to the portfolio countries, you will support field office staff to implement these projects effectively, monitor their impact, contribute to sectoral networks, and support in-country and cross-country learning. You will also lead on developing new business with institutional donors, representing Plan and leading on new proposal development where opportunities arise.
We are looking for someone with proven experience securing and managing sizeable development projects, at least a year of which should be field-based. Knowledge of EU and DfID grants is particularly desirable. The position requires experience and/or a keen interest in supporting child-centred community development projects (particularly in East Africa).
