It will enable you to gain a thorough understanding of how a busy HR Department operates by supporting the various Humanitarian teams in the Head-Office as well as Emergency Response field staff.
This Head-Office placement provides the opportunity for the individual to support the Humanitarian Team in a whole range of functions such as recruitment and selection, induction of new staff, staff communications, general administration, staff support and ad-hoc projects.
During this time, you will attend Save the Children’s compulsory induction courses to get a wider understanding of how we work practically and theoretically in emergencies.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this 6-month Head-Office placement will include:
• Providing support and extra capacity to the Humanitarian HR team • Supporting processes for the whole cycle of recruitment and selection, including using the organisations’ bespoke on-line recruitment engine - Engage • Help creating and maintaining comprehensive and accurate staff files, both paper-based and electronically as well as various staff rosters (internal and external) • Checking successful candidates medical clearances, references and all other pre-deployment checks • Act as administrator for our e-learning tool - Empower • Supporting emergencies rosters recruitment and maintenance • Helping organise induction and training events • Other ad hoc projects for the HR team • General administration tasks as they arise
