The Ministry of East African Community (MINEAC) would like to recruit competentpermanent staff as follows:
Director of Social, Political, Legal and Judicial Affairs
- Coordinate the staff of the unit to oversee the smooth integration/ harmonization processes of EAC policies and programs under Social, Political, Legal and Judicial Affairs Unit;
- Participate in regional integration negotiations at a senior officials level in Social, Political, Legal & Judicial matters;
- Follow up on the implementation of EAC projects and programs in the following areas: Education, sports and culture, Health, Labor and employment, Gender, Youth, children, social protection, civil society and community development;
- Follow up legal texts or policy papers submitted to Cabinet of Ministers or the Parliament;
- Keep track of the political position of the country in regional negotiations;
- Follow up on Summit and Council Decisions regarding social sector
- Provide technical advice to the Permanent Secretary on the integration processes
- Provide technical guidance to the unit staff;
- Prepare annual and quarterly progress reports on the integration processes on political matters;
- Propose justified amendments of legal texts in order to take into account the international agreements Rwanda signed to improve quality of services and/or to facilitate reaching objectives determined by the institution;
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Minister and Permanent Secretary;
- Report all activities to the Permanent Secretary.
Qualifications
Masters Degree in International Relations, Law, Political Science, Sociology, Regional Integration Studies or Bachelors Degree(A0) in international relations, Law, Political Science, Sociology, Regional Integration Studies with 5 years working experience with an organization of international nature and holding a post that involves inter-state negotiations or any other related field.
