partnership with GIZ intends to fill the following vacancy with a suitably qualified person.
The Job: Conflict Early Warning and Early Response Advisor
Key Qualifications
Suitable candidates should:-
* Be a University graduate in the area of peace building and conflict management. Post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage
* Have at least 2 years progressive experience in conflict management, peace building, early warning systems/mechanisms
* Possess basic IT skills
* Possess training and networking skills
* Have management/coordination experience
Reports to: CEO
Major Functions/Accountabilities:
* Researching and developing key conflict early warning indicators at county and national levels.
* Networking and consulting with other key stakeholders and partners working on early warning mechanisms to harmonize CEWER approaches
* Carrying out regular research on conflict situations in Kenya and building scenarios
* Supporting programme management and coordination to ensure maximization of synergy
* Engaging and applying the various early warning tools already developed for value addition
* Training users of the organization’s early warning system
* Generation of regular reports on conflict situations and response interventions
* Undertaking resource mobilization towards sustainability of the system and function
* Maintaining donors and partners relationships as well as creating/establishing new partnerships
