NORWEGIAN EMBASSY
The Government of the Kingdom of Norway and the United Republic of Tanzania are responsible for maintaining official and diplomatic liaisons as well as overseeing the development cooperation between the two countries.
The Norwegian development cooperation with Tanzania focuses on economic growth and increased welfare. We work in partnership with the Rural Energy Agency to improve access to electricity, with Tanzania Revenue Agency on revenue collection and with Ministry of Energy and Minerals on the Oil for Development program, focusing on managing a petroleum economy that will benefit the people of Tanzania. We are also engaged in climate change and natural resource management. Tanzania is increasingly an interesting country for Norwegian private companies for investment and trade, and the Embassy promotes private public partnerships, especially in the agriculture sector.
VACANCY - FINANCIAL QUALITY CONTROL ADVISOR
The quality control advisor will be responsible for a broad range of tasks and subjects related to assessment of financial reports and other documents in the Embassy portfolio.
Main tasks:
Assist programme officers in assessing project proposals with regard to relevance, realism and cost effectiveness.
In cooperation with programme officers and agreement partner, assess agreement partner's capacity and competence with regard to financial management, and give advice on appropriate formats and timing for the reporting required in the agreement.
Review relevant documents such as agreement partner's budgets, financial reports and audits for advice and quality assurance during preparation of and prior to entering into agreements, annual meetings and disbursements.
Further, provide written comments to relevant Programme Officer as a basis for necessary action to ensure effective grant management of high standard in line with Norwegian rules and regulation for management of Norwegian grants.
Review and give inputs on procurement processes
Other duties and tasks as may be deemed necessary
Requirements
Candidates should have an academic degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting/Audit or a related field, and at least three years working experience in a relevant position.
The successful candidate should have relevant experience from working with grant management in an international working environment. The candidate should have good analytical skills, conceptual ability, and good knowledge of Tanzanian institutional government system. The candidate must be fluent in English and preferably have working knowledge of KiswahilL Excellent ICT skills are required.
We are looking for a person who is able to contribute to a good working relationship with colleagues at the Embassy and with development partners, and a good team player who can also work independently and efficiently.
