Responsibilities To enhance our team in Tanzania, Mobisol Ltd is looking for a System Administrator for the
Arusha Region. This is a challenging opportunity to join a highly dedicated international team
in a fast growing renewable energy market. The System Administrator is part of the
Technical Team in a Regional Hub. The System Administrator is primarily responsible for the
set up, maintenance, support, and troubleshooting of Mobisol’s staff computers and IT
infrastructure throughout the Mobisol facilities.
In particular, activities
General IT infrastructure management: responsible for setting up and running working
computers (e.g. installation /configuration / update of operating system / software / features)
and Internet networks
• Set up email program Thunderbird
o Integrate Web client into Thunderbird
o Put a shortcut in the Windows toolbar
• Set up Skype and an user account for new employee(s)
o Put a shortcut in the Windows toolbar
• Set up Dropbox
o Add/remove staff to the Mobisol folder “Mobisol (Kakute)”
o Put a shortcut in the Windows toolbar
o Support staff with synchronisation of the Mobisol folder
• Set up Google Chrome as internet browser
o Put a shortcut in the Windows toolbar o Bookmark Skydrive sheets
o Bookmark the Mobisol Database
• Train staff to handle their computers properly and on how to use the programs
• Maintain and (if necessary) troubleshoot printer equipment
Additional tasks
• Work within Mobisol’s Database as required and correspond with Mobisol’s IT-Team in Berlin (e.g. report Bugs, follow up on integrated new features and potential development, etc)
• Provide recommendations for improving the company's IT systems
Work / information Process
• The System Administrator is directly reporting to the Head of Technical Department.
Job requirement
We are looking for a resilient and experienced IT person who can quickly assimilate to the operations of Mobisol. The incumbent must be a good team worker who shares our motivation and helps us drive a solar revolution. She/he must be able to show knowledge about Solar and electricity works and computer office skills. The system administrator must possess excellent interpersonal communication and impeccable organisational skills as well as be willing to work in a flexible and creative work environment with fast evolving operations.
Qualifications and skills required
• University degree or Advanced Diploma in related field and a minimum experience of 2 years performing related tasks
• Proven track record of success delivering scalable processes/operations to drive high-growth
• Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly through formal reports, presentations, memoranda and email
• Proven record of leadership, budget management, collaboration and engaging at senior levels
• Must be self-motivated, with an ability to balance multiple projects while working under tight deadlines with close attention to detail, accuracy and quality at all times
• Fluency in English and Swahili Languages as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
