The Position:
The Security Manager maintains security and safety of people and property through appropriate supervision and enforcement of IST’s procedural rules and regulations.
Key functions:
Liaison:
•Act as Liaison between the school, outsourced security companies, Government establishments and other organizations to ensure adequate security and safety.
Supervision:
•Prepares & enforces approved rules and regulations to facilitate personal safety of students, staff, parents, visitors, and school property.
•Ensures that guards are appropriately trained, oriented and carry out assigned responsibilities.
•Visits school campuses and residential areas at various intervals, including random checks after school hours, to ensure appropriate security coverage is in place.
•Monitors sensitive and vulnerable areas to ensure they are appropriately secured.
•Supervises and supports IST security staff.
•Reviews periodic reports submitted by the campus security supervisors.
Infrastructure management:
•Monitors security systems and equipment to ensure effective area and visitor surveillance.
•Ensures all security equipment is periodically checked and serviced to enable optimum performance.
•Reviews adequacy of security personnel and equipment and recommends appropriate action to the school Director.
Special Assignments:
•Reviews and reports to all concerned on thefts and follow-up progress.
•Represents school in security related court cases.
•Recommends an annual school-wide security budget and monitors approved budget.
•Arranges additional security coverage for special school events including sporting events and excursions/trips.
•Conducts a risk analysis and co-ordinates security audits as and when required.
•Develops, updates and maintains security related policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Experience:
•Relevant certification in security related field
•Five (5) years of experience in a similar capacity with reputable institutions
