European Commission through European Development (Fund EDF10) is currently supporting the United Republic of Tanzania through its agencies under the Trade and Agriculture Support Programme- Phase Two (TASP II). This programme is implemented in a period of four years. The overall objectiveofTASP II as illustrated in Financing Agreement is to increase agricultural production, development and trade in view of economic development and reduction of rural poverty in Tanzania. This is a four yearsprogramme starting from July, 2012 to June, 2016.
Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) being one of the implementing \ agencies has set aside funds to employ two Project drivers and one Project Accountant.
Project Accountant
The, project is pleased to announce the positions for prospective and potential candidates to apply.
Qualifications and experience
Holder of Degree/Advanced Diploma in Finance or Accounting from a recognized institution.
One year experience in Finance or Accounting from reputable organization.
Experience in project environment is an added advantage.
Computer skills are essential.
Age limit
Not above 35 years old.
Duties and responsibilities:
To prepare payment vouchers.
To prepare cash books.
To do Bank Reconciliation
To prepare financial progress reports.
To prepare Trial Balance.
To prepare Journal Vouchers (JVs) and ledger books.
To keep records of transactions and reconcile them with cash balance.
To receive and keep proper custody of all bills, invoices and other claims pending for payments:
To prepare petty cash payment vouchers and accounts documents
To issue receipts and keep in safe custody all accounts and supporting documents pending audit scrutiny
To dispatch letters and other documents relating to accounts issues to the bank.
Any other duties as may be assigned by the Imprest Accounting Officer (lAO) or Imprest Administrator (IA).
Driver II
Qualifications and Experience
Possession of Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) or Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) with a valid driving licence in relevant category, three years working experience and Trade Test III in auto mechanics who has attended the Advanced Driving Course and obtained the Driver Certificate Grade II at the National Institute of Transport or its equivalent.
Age limit
Not above 40 years.
Duties and Responsibilities
Drives Project vehicles.
Maintains log books.
Carries out simple services.
Maintains assigned vehicles as per maintenance schedule.
Will be required to detect or maintain minor mechanical faults.
Any other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.
Duration of Contract
One year Contract renewable upon satisfactory performance.
